FAQ

Questions, answered

Everything you need to know about booking a Pickup. Can’t find your answer? Just ask us.

What does ZE OKINAWA do?

ZE OKINAWA provides bulk trash collection and unwanted item removal for homes, businesses, and military facilities. We help with everyday decluttering, housing inspection preparation, move-out pickups, and full house clear-outs, including heavily cluttered or hoarder homes.

We collect furniture, appliances, mattresses, and other accepted household items, then sort and transport them to appropriate recycling and disposal facilities. Suitable reusable items may be donated.

For hoarder house clear-outs, we also offer basic cleaning of the cleared areas. Deep cleaning, disinfecting, and pest treatment are not included.

We welcome one-time pickups and ongoing contract work, subject to project requirements and availability. Send us photos and your location to request an estimate.

What items do you take?

Furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics, bikes, exercise equipment, boxes of household goods, and general clutter from cleanouts. If you’re not sure about something, add it to your Quote Request and we’ll tell you.

Is there anything you can’t take?

We cannot collect:

  • Large propane tanks used for grilling
  • Medical waste
  • Sandbags
  • Large volumes of construction rubble, including concrete, bricks, and tiles
  • Giant tree trunks or oversized stumps

If you’re unsure about an item, please send us photos before scheduling your pickup.

How much does it cost?

Price depends on the amount and type of items. Send a Quote Request with a short list and a few photos and we’ll reply with a Quote. Quotes are estimates. If you add items on the day, the crew will update the price on the spot before loading.

Which areas do you serve?

All of Okinawa’s main island, including Kadena Air Base, Camp Foster, Kinser, Courtney, Hansen and Schwab, plus Yomitan, Kadena Town, Chatan, Okinawa City, Uruma, Onna, Kin, Ginoza and Ginowan.

Can you pick up on base?

Yes. For On-base Pickups the Customer needs to sponsor our crew or meet us at the gate. Let us know which gate in your Quote Request and we’ll coordinate the time with you.

I’m PCSing or EASing soon. How far ahead should I book?

As soon as you know your move-out date. Peak PCS season fills up fast, so 1–2 weeks ahead is ideal. We often squeeze in last-minute Pickups too, so reach out even if your deadline is close.

Do you do same-day or next-day pickups?

Often, yes, depending on the day’s schedule. Message us on Messenger or call for the fastest answer.

What are your hours?

We operate Monday through Sunday during standard business hours.

How do I pay?

Payment is due after the Pickup is complete. We accept cash (yen) and other common payment methods. Ask when you receive your Quote.

What happens to my stuff?

Everything is sorted after collection. Items in good condition such as clothes, furniture and household goods are donated to people in need through local charities and NGOs. Recyclables are taken to licensed facilities. Only what’s left is disposed of.

Do I need to be home for the Pickup?

Not always. If items are left outside or someone can let us in, we can work around you. For On-base Pickups someone must be there to sponsor the crew.

Ready to clear it out?

Send a few photos and we’ll get back to you with a Quote. Most replies arrive the same day.
